    I Feel So GOOD!

Just got back from a short after work ride - my typical ride that I posted about a while back. I've been struggling this season and have not felt very strong at all. It's been hard for me to stick to my training schedule for a whole bunch of reasons and I am not where I want to be at this point in my season. My big goal ride is at the end of April.

But today's ride was AWESOME! It was only 16 miles and I averaged 15 mph, but for me the kicker is my average HR was only 146. That's about ten beats below normal for me on this ride.

Of course, it wasn't windy...like normal.

Still it was a good ride.

Yay! Good for you for having such a good ride. I'm sure you will meet your goal at the end of the month.

Here, we are stuck in a snow/rain pattern, so it was back on the trainer tonight. Sigh. Have I mentioned that I hate the trainer?

I'm just jealous of your ride! Congrats.

Thanks! I kind of wonder if I felt so good today because I thrashed myself on the trainer with a double header of ECT on Sunday and took yesterday off. I just felt like I was flying up all my hills. I kept wondering if I had a tailwind, but it's a VISA ride. You can't have a tailwind in both directions - especially not here in the Delta!

Oh! and I pedaled all the through the really tight, blind corner on the uphill. Sometimes I get wimpy and coast through the middle of it.

Whatever... I'm going to enjoy feeling good.

Yay V!! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. It's so great when things start to come back, hopefully stronger than before!! Keep at it!

Woo-hoo! Way to go, V. Maybe that was a breakthrough ride and things will start getting back to normal for you.

Hey, I'm kinda late to this thread...just wanted to say Yay!

Last year, I was trying so hard to gear up for my ride, that I felt pretty tired and beat up most of the time. But, every once in awhile I would have a breakthrough ride when I could feel that, yes, I was making progress. I remember the relief and fun of finally having that fun ride that felt good!

Yay for you! Glad you had a great ride, Veronica.
