Anybody else get out on her bike today? We have light snow in the forecast for tonight so I headed out earlier than usual to get in a quick 10 before the flakes begin. (Around here, you never know how seriously to take the predictions....)

After riding with IFJane last Saturday (great fun!), I'm determined to get my average speed up a bit, so I added a half dozen 30-second hard-push "intervals" to today's ride. Also, now that I've got a good feel for a 75-85rpm cadence, I switched my cyclocomputer over to average mph to challenge me to keep my speed up, especially on the last long gentle uphill to where I park my truck. I usually come in at just under 12mph av on this particular road, but my last three rides on it have all been mid to high 12+mph. Today I finished at 12.5mph av, so all in all a respectable (and cold, brrrr) ride....Lots of cows, little traffic!

We had light snow last night and then a cold front came in. It was 20 when I woke up... and 13 by the time I left. Took ye olde studded tyres and pedaled my backside off into the 17 mph winds. Ski goggles are awesome
(And thought about the folks in Canada and MN etc still doing this in, oh 25 below...)

OMG, Sue! Your ride makes my little 10-miler sound like a stroll in the park. Ski goggles?? I love it!!
