If you're close to the border, look at rides near Sharon, WI. Sharon is the home of former RAAM riders Lon Haldeman and Susan N[long Italian name]. They "give back" to the community with some well-run, very low key rides (e.g., Round'a Manure).

trailnet.org has several, but they're in the southeastish part of the state, within an hour or so of St. Louis, MO.
