    Army of Women

This might be old news but I heard something on the radio about this:

    http://www.armyofwomen.org/

They are looking for volunteers to help with breast cancer research. I believe they are looking for women that don't have it so they can figure out why some women are more prone to it than others.

I almost posted this in the health section and it probably should have been there, I just wanted as many people as possible to see it.

I have a question that I couldn't find on their web site... (granted I didn't hunt around very long)

If I sign up, are they going to sell my email address? As in, will I get even more junk mail? Or will they keep my info private? I'm loath to sign up for things unless there's some sort of promise that my name, address, and email will remain private, especially in conjunction with medical issues.

Thanks, I hope it comes to Canada one day. I sent it off to my Mom who will hopefully tell her US friends about it. I'll have to make a donation.

At first I was a little squeamish about the thought of signing up for testing but after reading the site I think this sounds pretty great.

It looks like there are no privacy concerns. Here http://www.armyofwomen.org/safeguardingvolunteers
    it clearly states:

(I take contact information to include email addresses):

The Army of Women adheres to all the privacy guidelines required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and will only work with researchers and institutions that adhere to all HIPAA regulations. Since our goal is to help researchers get the volunteers they need, we will not collect or store any health information from any Army of Women participants. In addition, Army of Women contact information will only be provided to centers and/or scientists who have sought written permission because they have study protocols that require this information.
