    Bicycling Mag, December '07 issue...

    ... is definitely worth buying, if you don't subscribe. There's a great multi-page section on "30 Days to a Beautiful Bike" that includes 30 tips on keeping your bike in tip-top shape (29 tips, if you don't count the idea of buying a case of beer for your LBS mechanic). For anyone who's been unsure of how to clean what part when, it's a great starter guide. There's also an article on proper bike lubing and one on caring for your cycling clothing. Good newbie (or old-timer) issue.
    "How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

    they actually had an interesting article about a murder that happened almost 100 years ago with a bike as evidence. the story abruptly ends with a several page spread of advertising. It took me quite a while of paging before I found the next "consecutive" page;
    (you know one of those deals where the story stops on page 74 and continues on 75 but there are 12 pages of ads in between) then I finally found page 74 and on the bottom of THAT page it says "continued on page 115" and that page was also submerged in the midst of a bunch of ads. Fortunately I was not in a hurry so I did manage to read the whole article. GRRRRRRR

    I want a copy of that British catalog with the posters in it though!!

    Yeah, Mimi, I've pretty much given up on Bicycling due to the quantity of advertising vs. the quality of the features. That's why I was so pleasantly surprised by this issue and wanted to let folks know about it.

    The article about the bicycle murder was kind of strange. Interesting Halloween reading, but very inconclusive and just... strange.
