    fleche' wounds? ((sighs))

what's a fleche? look here for the gory detials, but it's an event in which you try and ride 360Km(223 miles) in 24 hours.
The other thing to note is that Fleches (french for Arrow) are point to point routes.
Our local RBA has 'decreed' that all fleches end at the pier in Oceanside, which is good, since Metrolink(LA area train service) goes there. We planning on starting on Cucamonga since we both live thereand we also have Metrolink.
The problem i'm having is my "partner" and I are not seeing eye to eye on couple of things
    1. He's a monster hill climber and I'm more of a sprinter. I've manged to talk him out of Oak Glen , but its sounds like we're still going to Idlywild,Anza and the wilds of Eastern San Diego County. Need to lose some wieght
The second issue is that we need to go through the city of San Bernardino. I put together some of our club route, since I've done them and they're goof routes.
He wants to do some more side streets, which I think may slow "us" down. He did one of my permanent routes, and his only complaint was the amount of traffic lights.
The other issue is the fact that "San Berdoo" has very gang-infested areas, and I'd like to aviod being asked to hand over my bike at gunpont...
Right, now I'm going to try plan his way through San Berdoo, and let him see if he likes it. Plus I might head down south some more to make sure I do the climbs without being too much of Hinderance... I've told him upfront that I may or may do the rider (he's a much more experienced Rando rider than I. he did PBP this year )
Any ideas on how to more battles? and what have I gotten myself in to?) I'm not adverse to planning two routes( actually. I've been doing "modular" Planning so we swap segments), but I've got to find some crazy folks for the Cucamonga Cuckoos....

the way i've seen this done is one person makes the route and the others get to critique it.
YOu might talk to Raleighdon. If you guys aren't compatible, it might just not work.
It gets ugly in the middle of the night .... sleepy, cranky, hallucinating, etc.
