    Numbness in one foot?

I'm having trouble with numbness in my right foot, usually when I've been riding for an hour or so. It tingles for a while and all of a sudden I've got to get off and walk for a while to get the circulation back in it. It's unbearably uncomfortable when this happens. I can't not get off the bike.

My left foot does not do this.

My left foot has had surgery (bunion) in 2000. My right foot has not. Both feet are abnormally wide. My foot length is about a size six and a half. But my foot width is probably a size ten or better. Or maybe even wider than the average guy's size ten foot. Heck, most people would consider my feet deformed.

Right now I'm using a Shimano Road (guy's model) shoe (RT-50?), size 41. The shoe is too long for my feet but it has to be to get it wide enough. I wear cycling socks, but have also tried regular old sneaker socks, hiking boot socks and also running socks with individual toes in them. I haven't been able to figure out whether or not any cycling shoes come in WIDE. The Euro sizes are confusing enough.

I've been cycling for two years, though I'm merely an intermediate rider (on both speed and distance).

Solutions? Suggestions? Short of having a shoe custom made? I can't even find anyone to custom make me some everyday shoes, much less cycling ones.
