Talking First ride on new bike!!!

Went a couple of weeks ago on my kona smoke. I haven't ridden in about 10 years. My friend and I went on the local bike path. I wasn't really sure how long we went for, we turned around cuz the bike seat wasn't that comfy for my friend (she has a gary fisher with a padded saddle) I thought we went about maybe 4 or 6 miles. Turns out we went for 10!! I could have gone for longer, but since the booty was sore we didn't. Thats pretty freakin sweet if you ask me.

Haven't been able to get out there to go biking cuz of work, but plan to break my record soon.

Just thought i would share that with my fellow te members!!

Congrats on getting out there! Great job on 10 miles on your first outing. Now where is the pic of your beautiful ride?

I am glad the ride felt so good to you and hope you find the time soon to repeat.

Congrats on the Kona, Cali... always exciting to have a new baby in the house!
    Enjoy

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Cool bike! 10 miles is a great distance for starting out. When I started riding in February, my uncle gave me some excellent advice...do short rides for the first few weeks, even if you feel like you could do more. He has known more people who have started riding too many miles too soon and have paid the price for it...sore muscles, injuries, etc...and then they decide they don't like cycling. My first few weeks of riding consisted of lots of short rides...3 to 10 miles each. I never felt overly sore and I was always looking forward to my next ride. I built my mileage up gradually, and in no time I was riding 20-30 miles on the bike trail. I am sure that some folks would disagree with this, but it worked well for me.

    Enjoy your bike!
