Visiting Seattle; Want to watch Tour

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Okay, this is kind of a weird question for this forum, but ...
My husband and I will be on vacation in Seattle at the end of the month and we're hoping to find a sports bar or someplace where we can watch the Tour de France, especially on the last day (Sun 7/29). If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Whereabouts in Seattle? Will you have a car?

I'll ask DH but there are sports bars where there are TV's in the booths. Seattle has a lot of sports bars. Even our local pubs/bars (the ones right near our house, that is) will put it on though there's no sound because they play music instead.

And it isn't a strange question at all. I was planning a vacation once during the Tour and my criteria for a hotel was that they had OLN

Summit Public House! (there's a link in your other thread). It's not exactly a sports bar - it a cyclist bar (not biker bar....), so the TVs will only be tuned to the tour, the sound will be on - the owner has to be able to hear , and there will be a bunch of other cycling fans to hang out with.

We're staying downtown at the Holiday Inn Express. We won't have a car ... planning to do everything we can on foot, and take cabs or public transit when we need to. If I'd thought about the schedule when we made hotel reservations months ago, I would have asked if they have Versus. Now that I think about it, it might still be worth looking into that.

If you come up with sports bar suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Oh, look, they're near where I work.

    I don't have cable. I think I found a hang-out!

Hey is that going to be the same weekend I'm there? July 28 and 29? How fun would that be to hang out at Cyclists Bar and watch the TdF! We have to drive back to Spokane that Sunday afternoon/evening. Maybe Saturday night? bikerHen

    No, it's this weekend, July 20-22. <sorry!>

But I wouldn't be adverse to going again the following weekend if I like the place!

Slightly OT, what days on the Tour are the ones one should consider calling in sick for work for (not that I would ever do that)

We could maybe go if it's after 8:30pm or so. I really want to go to this place while the Tour is going but I'm running out of time!!! I'm in California this weekend but maybe next weekend....

That could work for me, if they're still replay the tour that late. I don't yet what the daughter has planned. All I know is that she keeps talking about going to some pub where she had beer flavored ice cream! bikerHen
