    wide tires...

    well ladies,
remember a few weeks back I asked about tires and different widths and what y'all thought of them, and their relative differences?

My buddy put one of those big ol' 2.7 inch Love Groovy DH tires on Elvira's front wheel.

    Whoa-
    I gotta tell ya-
    incredible.
I can't feel that much of a difference on the road, since I've been running 2.25's anyway-
but the front wheel feels INCREDIBLY stable. Like I could ride over anything.
    Now I dunno-
maybe it's like Dumbo and his feather...but I feel fantastic riding.
That stability- plus Elvira's smaller cockpit, makes it a joy to ride.
It'll be cool going downhill- but now, I dunno how it will climb...
and granted- the front end is mucho heavy now- it really adds some weight. But- since I am not racing anyway- I figure it'll be okay.

    All I know is-
with the combination of that big front tire, and the THE front fender- when I look down - it feels like I'm riding a motorcycle!

faith is knowing one of two things will happen-
there will be something solid to stand on-
or you will be taught to fly...

i think about it once in a while, there is that stability and go over anything factor... but on a 24# FS bike, I just love the lightweight factor and want to keep it that way.
