    Need help with rack

Has anybody used a Saris trunk rack on a 2005 or newer Subaru Outback Wagon? None of the trunk rack manufacturers recommend them for the car but I used to use one on my older subaru with no problems. I believe the newer subaru has a more angled rear window. I've read that they have been used successfully on some other styles of cars not recommended by the manufacturers so would like to know if it a CYA on their part. Please help I need to take a road trip by the end of the week and would like some input. Thx. Johanna

The Saris fit charts states that the Bones rack will work on a 2005 Outback Wagon. You need to use the Hatch Hugger (Part #3035) since it is being mounted to glass on the hatch.

I've got a Saris bones on my 2006 Outback. The wrench at my bike shop set it up so that the top arm sits on the top of the air-foily-thingy and the lower arms sit on the angled ledge just below the window. This puts it up high enough that it doesn't block the tail lights. I added the hatch huggers for the sides. In theory, the top hooks should also be huggers because it's clipping to a plastic part, but I have not bothered and haven't had a problem.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Smile Thx ladies for help with rack question

Thx for your help.. I discovered most trunk racks don't fit the subaru outback(or at least their websites dicouraged) so when i saw not applicable or something to that effect on the Saris site i became very frustrated. Must have mis-read. I'm very happy now..
