    My attempt at a Metric

I say attempt because it was not a good day. I was riding in an area I was totally unfamiliar with.

    1. I dropped my chain 6 times. Needless to say that did not have a good affect on my mood.

    2. Although the area was unfamiliar, the route was well-marked. That is until it crossed over the ride route from a ride the previous week. Yes, thanks to my frequent chain stops, I was behind so ended up following the wrong route. They had a cue sheet but since many of the streets had no signs, it wasn't real useful. I finally figured out that I was wrong somewhere when my computer said I was 2 miles past the second reststop with no sign of it. So I get on the cell and try to tell them where I am (I have no clue). So I settled on riding back til I found someone to ask. Found a guy in his horse barn who told me where I was, which was a very long way from where I shoulda been. I called and they came and got me. It took us a half hour to get back to the start point in a car!

I did get in 50 miles. I got a t-shirt that is way too big and a new water bottle. Wasn't my best day. So I had a milkshake.

    Congrats on the Milkshake????

Actually, I'm laughing because it sounds like something that would happen to me!

I was supposed to do the 50K version of this ride today, and subsequently I got lost (novices don't know how to read spray paint signs!) and ended up on the 100K route.

I got shuttled to the second rest stop after finally stopping at the first, and ended up doing about 40 miles instead of 32.

I was so glad SouthernBelle claimed me when the same guy had to pick her up and told her he picked up a girl named Megan.
    I enjoy it all.

Oh, & I left out the part about my saddle. The bolt that holds it in place worked lose. I could figure out why I was so uncomfortable & it was because the saddle had slid all the way back on the rails. So I had to take off the saddle bag, tighten the bolt, put the bag back on, and of course it still wasn't right. It was tilted up. Not comfortable.

I think if safe to say many of us have had similar experiences. I can look back on some and laugh today and others, well I choose not to look back because I still fume!

What kind of milkshake did you have?
