I really don't like to pass up a good deal but...

I dropped into my LBS. They used to carry QR line of tri bikes. Some of them can be fitted for TT use.

So there I was today after a decent workout, just looking (Idle mind/eye is a dangerous thing) ... They are changing their line up to Obera (love obera bikes), Cervello, Felt and few others.
And they are dropping the QR bikes.

So there it is.. QR Lucero 2007 model, Caliente 2007 model, and Seduza 2007 model. all at blow out price.I would really love to have a Lucero and would settle for Caliente but they don't have my size.

Seduza was equipped with SRAM components in the front and dura ace on the back. It's fully built up withVisionTEch base bar and clip ons. and the price is really really good. I could go for this bike. They even put it on a mag trainer and I tried it with my speed play pedals. It felt good. comfortable.

BUUUTTTT!!! I'm not racing. and if I get it, I have to race. And I'm just wayy too old. Who want to see a *& old biddy trying to compete with 20 or 30 something women? Silly of me.

    problems:

    1. I have to get my license.
    2. I'm still too out of shape
    3. I don't have any business racing
    4. There are very few TT here in California. Mostly Crits.
    5. Can't use this bike on crits. illegal equipment for crit.
    6. I would have to use all my tax refund and some.

    7. loved ones will have a super major cow if I said anything about it. so I'm just venting here.

oh the price is about 40% off what you normally would see.

oh if anyone is looking for a medium size caliente or lucero the prices on these were around $2800.

I guess I just have to drool like a little babe. Can't really afford it and don't need it.

I guess nothing bad about dreaming... whimper... still...

Why do you have to race if you get the bike? If the price and fit are right, just get it for your "serious" riding days.

BTW--You are NOT too old to race.

Definitely NOT too old! I raced this past weekend, and towed around two ladies half my age - they were collegiate (and I am about to be 40). Yesterday, our team's ages ranged from 12 (we have an AWESOME junior racer) to 65 (our club's national 'cross champion for 65+). The 65 year old is taking up racing for the FIRST SEASON!

So, phooey to you on being too old .

And, I agree with VB - just because you buy the bike does NOT mean you have to race...

too old is NOT an excuse that works anymore; girl!

however, "none in my size" that works.
