Yep, it was 81 degrees, so I donned my sleeveless jersey for a nice ride in the warm sun..... (ducks as people from back east throw things at her)....

I KNEW there was a reason why I moved to Phoenix!! (aka the surface of the sun)....

I am glad you were able to see the sun and feel it warmth. It is freezing here and about to snow again. Enjoy the warmth for me.

This morning it was 16F with a wind chill of 0. Snow coming tomorrow. I'd settle for temps consistently above freezing with little to no wind....sigh...
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Well, even though it was an unusual 13 degrees today, windy, and generally awful, it will be 50 or so on Saturday.

Tmes like this, I think about what it was like when I left work and had to open my car door when it was 112 F outside.

    Don't miss it at all.

DId I just ruin my race day karma??

Ya know taunting all of you kind folks out east may have been a mistake.... Knowing my luck karma will smack me in the asz come race day (4/15/07) and it will be windy as hell!!!!
    So I retract my post....
It was cold and miserable today. Yeah, yeah, that's it.. COLD, MISERABLE, WINDY, SNOWING, ICE, SLEET, UMMM... all of that. Phoenix is the new Alaska, yeah that's it....

Heck I don't think I've ever seen "sleet" come to think about it. I also want to see hail the size of a golf ball. Never have seen that. I would imagine it would hurt, and may even dent your car.. I do know that they have "hail insurance" which just cracks me up.
    Ok I'm rambling....
    Ciao!

I can't wait to ride without my tights over my shorts, 4 layers on top, head band, and warm gloves.... sigh...

OK, Denise: Monday, rode in windy conditions--gusts aroung 40mph. It was 40 degrees or so. Yesterday, the wind was a bit calmer--gusts only to around 25mph, but it was downright cold (lower 30s). Today, SNOW again, so who knows when HillSlug and I will be able to ride outside again. Please send spring east, ok?

Ditto on bringing spring East, as long as it is warm sunny spring weather.

It is snowing as I type here in NY. Yesturday with the wind it was in the teens.

AZ seems like the perfect state to me as I can never be too warm.

Hi Running Mommy: Hold onto that sun and warmth down there for me. I'm coming down Sunday to Phoenix for father in law's birthday and then three days the next week to Tucson to see my family and go to spring training games. I really hope its nice and sunny for the spring training games. I come down every year for those and it is great when it is warm and sunny after being cold for so long. I shouldn't really complain too much tho, this week has been great for Flag at this time of the year. We've seen 50's and sunny. Just have been too busy at work to get out in it. Hopefully, I will be able to get out there today a little, but I've got some lawyer in North Carolina that is bugging the heck out of me and I might have to go to work this afternoon cause he is such a pain!

    35 degrees both ways....

So wow, I got out of work before the damn sun went down, so I threw on the spandex and jumped on my bike. i headed west on A street and headed towards Pinoneers park. by the time I got to Coddington, I realized that I didn't have my damn back blinker. too bad, too late now to turn around, I already had a wind burn forming on my face and my adrenaline was moving way to out of control to care. I love it. the burn the fight up that damn viadock hill and the coast on the other side. but I hate it all so well too. so I'm on Coddington and I start to think about my day, the thoughts that have been traveling through my head. this is one of the best things about cycling outdoors, no matter how hot or cold it is outside that my mind turns with the wheels and I discover and make sense of things. and when I almost fall or slip because of the lovely roads, pavement or lack of jobs it somehow is always a sign. Funny how that works? but I get answers, luckily this time without the scrapes. it's too early to fall. well gotta go make my weight date....I need to find a purpose, I know I want to cycle alot this summer and hopefully compete. at least do some rides. I've been cycling for 3 years but not really seriously . I ready to get serious how do I turn this wheel? by the way hear in may state, I'm wearing 4 layers and hand warmers to ride....

LOL! That was a good one! Actually, I think we had a couple of 350 degree days here in TX last year...yeah, it was a dry heat though.

I just ordered a sleeveless jersey...don't know which of you has/had it in your sig line...but I'm supporting my right to bare arms! Just watch them flap in the breeze!

Can't wait for DST change this weekend! That will give me an extra hour of light after work so I can start riding again. It was 65 yesterday so I set out in a SS jersey and shorts after work and was comfortable. But after only 7 miles I had to turn around and head back...sun was getting low and I didn't want to be riding at dusk without any lights.

I'll take my record snow, record cold, potholes, and sand all over the roads over those summers any day. Literally, what I think when I get in my car in the morning (no garage) when its 5 below and there's yet another foot of snow to be cleared off the windshield, is that I'd rather put up with this than deal with a car that's 160 inside and you can't touch any part of the black interior because it will burn you. Yep, 4 years in AZ was 4 too many. On the other hand my parents and in-laws live down there, so its a great place to visit, but only from Nov. - March.

There are 120 reasons I'm happy to have left "the Valley" (aka Phoenix). You know it's going to be a blasted hot day when it's 9 am and already 100F
