    music for lap swimming?

I'm have my eye **casually** on a few tris this summer, and I'm ramping up training (this will be my first time tri-ing). I'm swimming laps for the first time in years and my form is sloppy, so even though I have plenty of aerobic endurance from running I am taking frequent breaks -- it's tiring to concentrate so hard on getting breathing down, etc. I'm thinking it might actually help me swim longer to have music -- while I'm one who doesn't get people who run outside or bike with headphones, I find the Ipod makes running on the treadmill bearable. I think I might relax and get better "flow" with music in the pool, as strange as that may sound.

So my question is, does anyone do this? What kind of mp3 player/headphone combos do you use? (www.swimman.net has **fully waterproofed** ipod shuffles -- cool!). And what kind of music do you listen to? For the treadmill, I listen to a lot of Ramones & Sex Pistols, other "high cadence" music -- but I'm not sure this would be best for swimming.

    thanks

I don't think I would do music while swimming - I have a hard time focusing on my stroke - but you might enjoy this as well:
