We rode up Sonoma Mountain again today, glorious weather. This is a section of the road that is washed out.
The views are not very good. This is looking at Sonoma Mountain from Bennett Valley.
Thom was having fun taking pictures as we rode so there are some other pictures from the ride on our website. Had a great lunch in Sonoma and then drove up Cavedale and down Trinity. Cavedale is a mess. We saw a few riders going up and stopped to offer help to two different guys. One was okay and needed nothing. The other had already used up his one tube so we gave him one of ours. Both said not to descend Cavedale. The second guy said Cavedale is no harder to climb than Diablo, so naturally I want to do it.
Trinity is the site of my closest call to meeting the pavement last year. The last corner caught me by surprise. Somewhere on TE I have a write up about it that I'll be searching out.

It's a nice ride. Thanks for getting us out there. Sunday we returned on HWY 12 to check it out, instead of staying on Arnold. It's got a good shoulder, more traffic naturally, but no stop signs.

Hmm, looks like Cantelow last year.
Maybe we can find the fine road crew who "repaired" it with the artfully laid out potholes leaking gravel.
