Hi guys, well as some of you may remember, my DH and I recently moved back home to NY after spending 10 years in CO. We have struggled a lot with trying to adjust being back near family and away from the mountains. Well after 7 months and buying a house we have decided we just miss CO too much and are heading back. Can't wait to get back to what we know. We both grew up in upstate NY however, we feel far more at home in CO then here in NY. We should be back by the end of Feb. I am heading out this week to find an apartment. Thanks for all of your support earlier this summer. Solo

Hey Solo - I remember your thread. Glad to hear you have found your home (sometimes we dont know until we leave it). Good luck with the apartment hunt.

I grew up in Colorado and though I've now lived in California longer than I ever lived in CO, I'd move back in a heartbeat if it were possible. My brother and his family are still there, so I get back there from time to time. Not often enough to suit me though! Once you've settled back in, I'm sure you'll be glad you made the decision to return. Good luck with your apartment search. Keep us posted.

I remember your thread too. Sometimes home isn't where you grew up. Kudos to you for listening to your heart and mind. You know you've made the right decision, you can always visit NY and family. Jennifer

Good for you! As someone who has moved away from North Carolina twice (to Florida and to Wisconsin) and ended up moving back in less than a year both times, I completely understand. It can be really hard to leave what we have grown used to -- what is "home" -- whether it's one's original hometown or not.

Hope you have a smooth move back to CO!

My boyfriend is currently in Colorado Spring for a temporary assignment. He says he always sees people with bumper stickers that say NATIVE and have a colorado flag on them. The other day he told me he saw one that said: I'm not a native, but I got here as soon as I could.

He says there's alot of people that moved out there and love it, hence all those bumper stickers. It reminds me of Atlas Shrugged... heh

Good luck with the apartment hunting!

    Welcome back!

I'm a relatively new resident here, 2 years, but I understand where you're coming from. I can't imagine going back to Cincinnati (my home for 56 years).

It took me a long time to get here, I had to retire first. This is a very special place and it also feels more home to me than Ohio ever did.

Don't be shocked when you come, we've been buried in snow for the last month. It has been cold and the snow hasn't melted quickly like it usually does.
