    New Year - New Goal

I want to get into shape for a charity ride at the end of June and am trying to shed the extra saddlebags left behind by the Thanksgiving Turkey & Christmas Cookies. Is losing 15 lbs in 22 weeks a reasonable goal? I am doing a pseudo-weight watchers program (low fat, high protein & fiber) and hitting the gym/trainer at least 2 times per week. Am I biting off more than I can chew?

No, that sounds very reasonable to me. Everything I've read/heard says not to lose more than 2 lbs/wk, and your goal is even less stringent than that. You can do it! The first 5 lbs. will be mostly water anyway and will come off fairly easily; the next 10 will be harder but very doable. I would up your exercise to at least five times a week, though. It doesn't have to be the gym. Walk, ride the trainer, whatever, but just get moving as often as possible to kick your metabolism into high gear. Good luck!

I lost 30 pounds in 5 months 6 years ago.

I did it primarily through increased activity and just not eating out of stress or boredom.

I would increase your workout time...but I like to work out.
