Your commute can really help you reach the 2500 miles you signed up for.  My standard commute is only 4.3 miles each way. I do it 3-4 times a week, with a few longer distances thrown in during the long days of summer.    I track my miles on bike journal and the commute miles are also tracked on my clubs website.
