    January 3rd rides

We here in Kentucky were blessed with yet another unseasonable warm winter day and I decided to make the most of it after leaving school. I was able to squeeze in 15.8 miles and make it home before the sunset. It was a little colder than I had thought but with the new winter jersey, wind jacket, wind tights and wool/silk socks I felt comfortable. The buffalo farm I pass on the route I road today had part of their buffalo herd in the front pasture - they are such unusual creatures but I find them to be cute. I'd love to pet one some day (crazy I know).

I rode 13 miles just after midnight under the fool moon on the frosty prairie (frost reflects almost as well as snow; it was stunning).

Then I did my morning commute which was nicely uneventful... had teachers coming by doing stuff so I couldn't sneak out for a lunch ride STill it's warmer than average and just plain nice.

Prob'ly going to bed on time tonight though

The LBS called today and said they would have to wait yet a THIRD day to get to repair my bike, since the mechanic wasn't coming in today after all. I'm missing all the last sunny beautiful days here for riding!!!!!!!

Why did you go for a ride after midnight? Is this something you like to do? I would be afraid of all the critters that would be out.
My ride was a uneventful 15 miles. Well that is not true I got out all my frustrations and arguments that i wanted to have with people today. I felt a lot better after I was done.
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Um, my ride was after dark, too. I was just wishing that I was riding out on the prarie instead of in town.

Critters? Most of 'em are too smart to be out prowling on January nights. It's safer (that way) than you think.

Geonz, I'll ride with you anytime at night. Fun, fun, fun.
Give big space to the festive dog that make sport in the roadway. Avoid entanglement with your wheel spoke.
