    I'm hungry!

Ok.. I dunno if it's that colder weather is coming in or if it's the cycling or both but I seem to be hungry all the time! I'm not even cycling as much as some of you.

So.. should I just listen to my body and gnosh away or what? I used to be the type that didn't have to eat all day.. maybe only one meal a day (I know it's bad but I've always been too busy or just not hungry). Now seems that I wanna eat every 3-4 hours.

    What is up with that?

P.s. Eating apple and gnoshing on raisins right now.. munch, munch. Grazing for more food after this post....

Listen to your body, and eat healty foods. I eat 6 small meals a day. So I am eating about every 2 1/2-3 hours. I am rarely hungry and my blood sugar levels are nice and happy.

Me too, since I've been "dieting" I make sure to eat a small snack mid-morning, after school, and sometimes in the evening. Plus 3 light meals a day. I feel much better, never too full, nevern starving so I can east less...

I found that my appetite increased more than my need for food... so I gained weight. Happens when it's cold and happens the day after a hard ride.

I keep the hunger at bay by drinking water (and think that may be the 'hunger' is as much needing liquids anyway) ... and I *do* eat, just not EVERYTHING ALL DAY like I want to after a hard ride

I feel it is a natural seasonal thing. Just like the bears loading up on fatty salmon just before winter so they'll have enough fat layer to survive winter.

I just am not very hungry during the summer and I crave fruit instead of fatty things. In autumn and winter I crave high calorie high fat stuff.
It is frustrating. I too am now feeling like I'm always hungry, always craving baked potatoes, bread, chocolate, sour cream, cheese, fried stuff....ugh.
I try to have more tea and oatmeal and soup to fill me up in different ways than high fat or grease. But I don't alwyas succeed.

UNfortunately the weather and relentless rain here is keeping me off my bike, which is making it all worse! I've GOT to try to get in a ride tomorrow between the rain showers.

Me too! I am like, where're the cheese and crackers & I'll see you in the spring! Stuff like cookies, chips, doughnuts look especially appealing now. I am mostly successfully resisting.

While I do enjoy an occaisional item of the above in the summer, it's not like I want to live on the stuff. And like you, generally in summer months my appetite is more geared toward cold & fresh food - on a real hot & humid day, I eat very lightly - salad, chilled soups etc.

sigh. I really have been very hungry the last week or two.

[Oh, On a different note we got a slowcooker, hooray, can't wait to try it out after the chaos of Thxgiving is over.]

Yes, I understand< i seem to be always hungry these days!

As I mentioned in the other thread, I just got my slow cooker recipe book. We hope to make a rare trip to the malls (ugh) this week to get a slowcooker and a new microwave. DH is crazy about soups and I can't wait to start trying some out on him. Also, a pulled pork recipe! I always hated leaving a pot of soup cooking on the stove and going out for a while- too dangerous! Now I will feel safe with the crockpot. Been a LONG time since I've had one! (what, maybe 30 years?? )

I have been really hungry lately too!

I managed to resist a glazed donut a few days ago when a gal brought a box around at work to share, but only because I'd just gotten there at 9 am so had had breakfast not too long before. If she'd caught me an hour later, I might not have been so strong.

Funny too, a couple of nights later, I actually dreamt I ate a glazed donut.

Better to dream it than to do it, no?
