from your description it is very hard to say. But i can ride with mine (same brand) and talk on the phone and whoever I am speaking to cannot hear it.

Hi all,
I purchased my magnetic CycleOps this past October and been ridint it 1-2 a week. The only thing I dont like about it is the noise it makes and I am not sure whether it's because I set it up incorrectly or this is how it is?.
Let's say I am spinning with medium resistance ( large ring in the frong and middle ring in the back) and I have my tv on, I have to put the volume on tv all the way up to 35 to hear it. Sometimes I feel like I want to sprint but am afraid that the neighboors will come up and complain (live in apartment bldng).
Is it too loud or this is how they are ?

Well I know it's sort of hard to describe it so I will try again. Let's say I want to spring on a medium resistance ( i have 9spd casette) and I shift to 3 ring in the back and large on the front and then I pick up my speed, the trainer sounds like it's about to take off. If someone called me I think they would definately hear the trainer and it's questionable if I would be able to hear them.
sounds like there is something wrong.
the only other thing i can think of is, is it the tires? are they really bumpy ones or something?
no it's a road bike and the rear tire is a really nice one too. I tried to adjust the knob that is touch the tire but it doesn't help. I think the trainer is defected but I was not sure if it's just my imagination or true. I bought it from amazon so there is no way I can send it back to the original seller now, I wonder if CycleOps would be able to help.
Well,
Just called CycleOps, the customer service is very good. I explained the problem to them and all I have to do is send the resistance piece for replacement. It was pretty stupid of me not to do it earlier.![]()
