Looked at all the favorite ride pics gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous

Woe is me woke up this morning to snow,it has snowed all morning and is STILL snowing.

The bike will definately be coming into the house and to add to the misery the snow isn't good enough to x-country ski

Anyone know of a job for a well experienced art teacher Preferably year round riding and where there is no wind!

Sorry cant help with the job thing but SNOW.......I love Snow.

Now you have to take this as coming from an Aussie who rarely saw snow before coming to the USA and has never had to shovel out her car. Im guessing that wears pretty thin after a while. Good luck with the hunt for the year round riding destination with no wind......does a place like that exist??

Well I am in the sunny south and you find that the longer you are here, the more your blood thins so now, even my born and bred Maine-a DH gets cold at temps of 60f. We are going to start hitting the Y for the very reason of staying warm.

I remember when I was in Vegas. Wow was that hot. You don't really know heat until you feel the heat of the desert. We only get 120 heat INDEXES here in GA/SC ..... Actual temp usually caps at under 105. Thank Gawd. (these are usually the most extreme cases. Average temp is a couple degrees less)

    Hi eclectic!

Snow, huh? You know that I'm a native Magic City dweller and I must admit that even my blood has thinned after moving south, and my teeth do chatter when it is 60 degrees outside. In fact, I need a jacket when it is in the 70's!

That's not to say that I can't ride in these temps, just need to add a few more layers. North Dakota snow makes riding outside impossible...well, maybe you could get around on the roads with a mountain bike if the plows haven't piled the snow too high on the side of the road!

    Come visit anytime!

You can ride year round in Austin, Texas. Can't say there isn't some wind, but it is pretty nice year round. My thin Texas blood requires layers for our chilly, high in the 50's winters!! The hill country is great for riding, ask Lance. Want to move?

LR came in #7 Faytetteville was #1. I probably could have gotten where at now if I had opted for the endless summer, and not for rain every week (we usually go 6 months without rain.
eclectic, you can ride year around here in SoCal, the wind, is another matter (we're having Santa Anas today)

    Now THAT would be fun!

    Thanks for all the invites!

Temps here are 29 w/ a 10 mph wind so actually registering a wind chill of 19.
Dang this is late November weather and it doesn't look like it is going to warm up anytime soon

8 years til retirement - checked out other places and the teaching salaries aren't any higher and the cost of living is so I guess I will just have to suck it up and stay (

I understand salaries aren't higher & cost of living diff but if you have an opportunity to veture off to another land, why not? Another idea though would be to wait until you retire and then venture off to another land.

Anywho, keep warm & cozy this winter.
