    Smile A rainy day tale.....

So Wed is brick day, and although my brand new Titus Racer X arrived on Tuesday night, the workout was a washout due to pouring rain. Which brings me to my story.

I teach at a large public HS in NJ. We currently have a young lady attending our school that is one of the best runners in the country. She even attended the Wolrd Jr. Campionship last summer in China. I am talking smoking fast...and really nice. She is in my homeroom, and is a great kid.

So yesterday it is raining buckets. DH calls from his school....what are we going to do. No riding in this weather. I say, I am still going to run. He says ok, I be home in a bit. By the time he gets home is is really raining buckets. He looks at me, waiting for me to say...Oh Honey, we can bail and just have tea. But nope...I am, going. So naturally he feels guilty and says ok. We decide to go over to my school and run the cross country race course trails.

    .
We drive over, park the car, look at each...waiting for one of us to come to our senese....decide what the hell and jump out in to the rain. All after school activities were postponed, so it was really quiet.

We run around the frist corner, and low and behold, running in toward us in the pouring rain, is our local track star and her coach. All four of us burst out laughing...Naturally, who else would be out here.

We ended up have a great muddy run....and then went home for tea!

Fantastic! I had a muddy run yesterday as well. It was fun.

That's great stuff! Isn't it funny how adults change? As kids we could stomp in the puddles and play in the mud til the sun set, but it seems like most adults are afraid to play like that anymore. I say phooey to that - I wanna stay a kid! Rock on!
