    Random question:
I was looking at Velo News today, and noticed an article about women on the T-Mobile team competing in the Olympics. Did i misread that? I didn't think pro atheletes could compete in the Olympic games. or is it different for cycling? or am I just completely confused ?
    thanks!

I think the "no pro" rule is just for figure skating (for no good reason whatsoever).
Lots of pro athletes have competed in the Olympics.

The No Pro rule was around for a long time and covered all sports, but a few years ago they lifted it - probably when they realised that most of the worlds best sportmen are now professionals and it would be a bit silly if they weren't allowed compete.

I still think it's great that it purely for the medal and the title 'Olypic Champion'. No big cash prizes .

Team Mobile......be on the look out for one of our local Boise girls on the team - Kristen Armstrong.

She placed 5th in the Redlands race last week. The is an awesome rider. She is really a friendly and down to earth person for such an amazing athlete.

She was training at the olympic training center to prepare for the triathlon event for the last olympic games but then discovered she had an arthritic hip ailment - which meant that she could no longer run. So changed her focus to riding and Team Mobile picked her up. Totally cool......

    Just a little FYI.....
