Anyone doing this ride next week?

I survived Brat (Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee). The distances and humidity made me feel like a "brat" most days.

My friends tell me this ride will be easier.

Not doing it, but I know that it starts out hard (mountains), and gets easier with each passing day since NC flattens out the farther east you go. Nice way to do a bike tour, since when you're tired it is easier. The bad thing is that shuttles or complicated driving arrangements are necessary since the start and end of the tour are at opposite ends of the state (~6 driving hours apart).

The weather is all over the place for CNC -- some years dry, some years wet, some years really, really chilly in the mountains, others not. Right now it's really nice, but with NC's weather variability, who knows what the first week in October will bring? Should have at least some nice days, tho....
