Here me squeel with excitement!! I rode by myself today on my first solo mountain bike ride. It was so much fun!! I was able to stop at stuff I haven't been able to ride before and practice over and over again. I spent a lot of time practicing the big ring gear changes and have realized a big part of the problem is that they need mechanical adjustments. Will let DF know tonight. They kept swapping 2 rings or locking up the chain completely. Yes, I was shifting with light pedal strokes and smoothly. All my cables are new...bike was built for me about 2 months ago and I just started trying to get out of my granny gear.

Anyway I had a blast and on the second loop of the trail I didn't have to stop or bypass anything on the trail!! I rode big dips and trees (none too big) and steap uphills...and even finished In less time than it takes when I go with DF. go figure.......

Way to go!!! I went solo this morning too. Really gives you a chance to think. But I was concerned about what to do if I got bit by a rattlesnake...
