Road Market Still Strong, But How Long Can it Last?

JUNE 01, 2006 -- LITTLE ROCK, AR—During the past seven years that Lance Armstrong dominated the Tour de France, road bike sales increased 389 percent, an average 55 percent a year since 1998. Is that a mere coincidence? Suppliers certainly hope so.
Given the cyclical nature of the bicycle market, you would think bike makers would be worried about whether the road boom is over.
