    Whoo-hoo!! B-day Presents!

    To disable ads, please log-in.

So, my b-day isn't till Sunday, but I'm going on vacation for 5 days, so my brother decided to give me my presents early. I came home & strapped to Oscar(aka my bike) were:

-Pepper Spray (with nifty clip so if fits to the front handlebar area)
    -First Aid Kit
    -Small front bike bag
    -Bright Red CAMELPAK!!!!

I swear I was so freaking excited, you'd think I'd won the lottery or something.

So, I am fully prepared for my riding adventures for this vaca. Oscar is coming with me, cause there is a state park where I'm going, that has a bike path throughout.

Not verying exciting, but I'm going to a little town outside of Lafayette, Louisianna. My mom & I have the same b-day, so we are gonna go visit my dad whose doing a pipeline construction project over there.

The state park is called Chicot State Park, it's described as covering "over 6,400 acres of rolling hills and water in South Central Louisiana". My dad went siteseeing & says there is a mountain bike trail and a road bike paved path.

Oh my gosh, Pikato, I grew up just east of Lafayette! I moved to Georgia when I married a Georgia boy 20 years ago and have missed it every day since. All of my family is still there.

Be prepared for heat, humidity and mosquitoes. You will definitely want to bring that new Camemback. Chicot is actually near Ville Platte, which is a Cajun little town about 40 miles north of Lafayette. The good news is that it is flat, flat, flat down there -- the only hills are highway overpasses! If you need info on restaurants or shopping in the Lafayette area, just let me know. Pass a good time, chere! (Cajun for have fun.)

Oh! Hey, that's cool. Yeah, I live in south Texas, so humidity & mosquitos are my life, lol.

Yeah, the little town we will be in is Eunice, my dad's project has him running around Mamou, Ville Platte & all of the little towns!!

LOL, love the internet, someone always knows something about the place you are going!

Woohoo!! A color coordinating Camelbak. Sounds like your brother has you set for the open road. Have a great time and happy early birthday.

Crazy world, my DH will be in Eunice working week after next. They will doing some air quality testing at a carbon black plant in Eunice. Last time they stayed Ville Platte.

    Great haul, Pikato!

As for your camping -- watch out for cottonmouths and gators. Yikes!

Will you be in a tent (hot!) or an air conditioned trailer at night?

We tent camp, and don't camp during the heat because I don't sleep at nights when it's hot.

Good grief, Eunice and Ville Platte have become hopping little places, haven't they? Be sure to eat some good Cajun food (she says as she discretely wipes the drool off the keyboard).
