    Unhappy the pain!

not only has it been "one of those days" at work , but my pain has returned.

a few months back i saw a pt because i could barely walk. he told me that my tibia had rotated out of the joint and it was causing my pain. (has anyone else had this problem?) it happened while i was running and just got worse. he said it was a common injury. so while i was in town for a week i had 3 visits with him and he rotated it back in place. and i felt 100% better.

i came home and slowly was able to bike pain free, then run again. i'm not back up to speed on my running, but it felt so good to get out and go.

last night i while helping dear bf move out the old fridge i must've done something to my leg again because i can barely walk. i've become so close to tears so many times this morning and it just seems to be getting worse!

between the pain and having a bad day at work, i just want to go home and curl up in bed and not move.

sorry to complain, but i just needed to vent. i just feel like life just hates me today. plus i'm scared now that i'm never going to get better.

Of course you will get better!!! Did you talk to the doctor about how fast you can start running again? Maybe you should have waited a little bit more. If the pain is so bad, make another appt with doc, ask him/her if there is a permanent solution to this problem instead of keep coming back. We all have bad days, you are not alone. Get home, watch some movie with some chocolate and you will feel better.
P.S. not sure if icing it would help or maybe some advil?

i did talk to the pt about how quick i can run and waited longer than i needed ot because i didn't want to rehurt myself. i also talked to him earlier this week. i got my custom orthotics in the mail from him and he had a note saying call him. i think the orthotics somehow agravated the whole thing too besides moving the fridge.

Chick, misery loves company but you didn't have to do this on my account JK of course! Sorry to hear about the reinjury but I second the advise to go back to the PT that helped you out before. Can you get in before the weekend? Take 'er easy this weekend and let us know how you're feeling come next week.

I am sorry. Feel better soon! And here I thought I was having a bad day (nothing has gone as planned). Yours makes mine seem like a good day.

you know i thought of that afterwards. i was all happy yesterday feeling better with a good outlook on life, then BAM!

i took some advil and its helping. just going to take it easy for a while again, i guess... (also helps everyone left the office so i can do as i please!)

not sure when i can get back to the pt. its a 2 1/2 hr flight that costs $650 or 15,000 - 20,000 airline miles. though i do need a hair cut too....... hmm.... anyone in anchorage that has a place for me to crash? hotels prices are outragous right now.

Sorry you're feeling so bad. I just went through a bout with my knee, just when I thought I was doing so well so I totally understand your pain. I think certain muscles aren't strong enough after an injury so when you stress the joint other muscles have to take over for the injured muscle and its easy to cause the pain to flair up again.

Did you pt give you directions for wearing the orthotics? First day 1 hr? 2nd day 2hrs, etc. My pt also said not to exercise in them, ie hiking, long walks etc. Even though I've worn orthotics for years he still had me follow these guidelines when I got my new ones.

Also, are you icing? Advil and ice have been the best therapy for me. I was just about to call my Dr. but the knee is settling down again so I'm sure yours will too.

If you continue to have problems with the orthotics have the therapist recheck them. One pair that I had made by a therapist they were made wrong. My foot was killing me! She couldn't figure out why. I went to a podiatrist and he couldn't figure out why my foot was killing me. Finally, I saw to an orthopedic foot specialist and it turns our the first metatarsal drops lower than the other metatarsals so my foot doesn't strike the ground properly. He wanted to take a section of the bone out and splice the bone together, but fortunately, he recommended different orthodotics to help accomodate the metatarsal. Well, that did the trick thank goodness. However, I had new ones made several years ago and last year started having foot problems again! It turns out that there wasn't enough arch support, whew! I thought I was facing surgery but I had new ones made with a better arch support and no longer have foot pain.
