    Steep and Cheap Website

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Anyone else know of this website? I believe they list closeouts from Back Country. They list one item a day and once it's sold out that's it. Probem is they list the item of the day at midnight PST, I think. So often times the really good stuff is gone before I'm even awake. Anyway, they have a variety of stuff. It is a legit site. I have ordered several items and have even made a return. No problems.

    http://www.steepandcheap.com/

This page shows the items they've had listed...

Just thought I'd share this with you guys. I'm sure someone will enjoy it as much as I do.

That's the first thing I check every morning! I've bought several things from them. (Back Country also has a nice outlet online). You have to check early- often a really good item is sold out when I check at 5:30 AM.

There is also WOOT http://www.woot.com/ which has more electronic type things, a different one every day.

And, I just discovered this morning, WOOT Wine http://wine.woot.com/

I've just seen that today- I think they have the same deal for a week, there. I'll watch it for a while and see what shows up.

Yes....it can be very dangerous. I just added the WOOT site to my favorites list. Lucky for me, the wine.woot won't matter, since I really don't like wine.

I'm considering it. Florida is WARM and FLAT. Sounds pretty much like heaven to me after 30 years in soggy, steep Seattle....

You have to like humidity, though. I went out last night, and it felt like a steam bath. I _love_ that! My skin loves it, my hair loves it- my lungs _don't_ love it if it's 80-85F and hills are involved, but otherwise it doesn't affect my cycling.

I tried dry heat for a year and was miserable.

I'm not sure if it rains enough for you.

Plus you can drive to the mountains in six hours if you miss them.

There are long organized rides year round. Lots of tours. Tons of triathlon. An Ironman, and another iron-distance race.

    Beaches.

    Tons of paved rails-to-trails.

It can be muggy here in the ol' Northwest, though not swampy the way Florida is rumored to be.... and worse, we'll have decent humidity percentages in the winter making it a nasty clammy day out.

I have two more years of school and I really am considering transferring my final year to the Miami campus. Good to know that I'd be well-met there!
