Red face I'm a Real Rider now

Bought some clipless shoes, spent a while on the LBS trainer learning them. Went for a 10 mile-ish ride, was doing great with the clipping & unclipping until the very last red light. Promptly unclipped my left foot, came to a complete stop, forgot about unclipping my right foot & promptly fell right over. I burst out laughing & all the fishermen(I was riding along the bay) start yelling " U ok?" "Need Help" I just laughed & said, nope new shoes that's all. Hopped back on the bike & continued on.

Wasn't till I was loading Oscar into the car that I realized I was bleeding from my knee....oh well.

    Red face

I'm w/you Pikato. Practiced w/my clipless today too. Was doing great until my daughter zoomed past me and yelled Whoa! and down I went. I have a skinned left elbow and knee too. I fell in dirt, same difference, now I feel like a 10 yr old w/ skinned knees. dh tells me I need more of them LOL. What kind of shoes did you end up with?

I think a scar on the knee is the mark of a true cyclist. I'm growing fond of mine from my first few days clipless.

It's not a matter of if you fall- it's when. You got it out of the way!
Glad you laughed it off- I find my falls to be quite amusing to myself.
    Keep on riding...

Welcome to the club! I fell frequently when I first went clipless. I am not the most coordinated person. The most embarrassing was right in front of the George Bush Library in College Station. It is such a busy area and I felt pretty dumb. I wasn't moving, I just fell over! I guess for some it a rite of passage.
