    Bag for Carbon Bike ???

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    Greetings !

In anticipation of getting a carbon bike soon, I'm just wondering how do you folks get around (especially during trips out of town) ensuring that your "precious" dont get unncessary scratch marks ? A proper soft bike bag ? If so, any recommendations for make / brand ?

Thanks Caligurl ; unfortunately, I am referring to having the carbon bike protected, looking for ideal soft bike case (with foam protection) instead.
The hard bike cases dont come cheap, reckon they are at least $300 brand new, & they are pretty heavy and bulky to carry about to travel with.

But it _would be_ cool if you could fold the bike down to fit in a seat bag!

I wonder if they make quilted sipper bags like for carrying a nice saddle.

For flying I strongly suggest a hard box, and renting one unless you want to use it very often. I remember seeing them sold for less than 1000$ dollars, it may be worth investigating.

I have a Serfas hard case--plenty of foam padding comes with it. I think I paid about $350 for it. Doody has made 2 trips cross-country in it just fine. She's a carbon fiber Trek. It has wheels and a strap for ease of transporting in the airports. I've paid $50-$80 to $0 to take her on the planes--depends on the airline and how observant some people are. Also if you're going 1st class, there's no extra charge. (I upgrade with miles.) I wouldn't dream of anything soft sided.

Cool ! Its so difficult to find a reasonably priced bike case over here in Singapore. Really envious of how accessible you folks are to online purchases With the freight charges and all, reckon I'll have to leave aside at least usd $500 for the case

Thanks a bunch Nanci ! This bag sure looks cool and easy to handle.
Checking out with the supplier international shipment rate, keeping fingers crossed it aint gonna cost more than the bag itself
