Oh wow, people, you have got to see this. County legislator in Suffolk County. I'm speechless.

I mena he's actually saying that almost every driver there is incapable of following signs, paying attention or not running down other people.

    Wow!!!

Just confirmed that Mr. Barraga is real. Yes Mr. Thomas Barraga age 70 is a county legislature district 11. If you like to politely remind him about bicycles and motorcycles, you can do so at:

    Mr. Thomas Barraga
    167 Sunrise Highway
    Suite C
    West Islip, NY 11795

Or you can call at 631-654-4100

I don't think I need to tell you where he stand on other issues. A dinosaur with some ill founded delusion about road use.

Gawd I need to move to Amsterdam or Copenhagen... Portland so far has been spared of this kind of lunacy.

Ugh. Here's an idea for this guy...how about trying to improve the situation by educating motorists? Much more constructive than just throwing up your hands like he seems to be doing...sounds like there legitimately has been an issue with safety in the area but his answer that nobody should bike is just ridiculous!

I first read about this letter yesterday via BikesnobNYC's twitter feed. And here is his reaction.

Note the part where Barraga has voted in favor of a Complete Streets resolution.
