bibs for long-torsoed gal? and good non-cycling tights

I am thinking about buying my first pair of bibs. I am tired of shorts slipping down my waist. Having never worn a pair, I am wondering if they work for someone with my body type? I am 5'8" and have very slender legs and a long torso. Will bibs that fit my torso be too loose in the leg? I normally wear a size small.

Also wondering if anyone has a rec for a non-cycling tight I can layer over bike shorts? Just a heavy lycra would be great, no extra insulation (I'm in central Texas ).

    Shouldn't be an issue

the straps are pretty stretchy, there a plenty of guys with long torsos too.
Try on some different brands, but overall you'll be looking for the same qualities as you do in regular shorts.

The only feature in bibs that doesn't apply to women is how low the front of the waist is (this is for ease of, er, um, *ahem* guys to pull out the hose without dropping the straps). Typically on the lower end bibs the front waistline comes up to the belly button, but on the 'pro' level the waistline drops down in a V shape nearly to the pubic area.

welcome to bib world you will love it!!

That is what I've heard! Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I can find something that works.
