    Trek Steel mixte

    The Belleville, for 2010.

I plan on a test ride and may sell the Mariposa (minus the Brooks) when they come in.

I can't remember what he said the price would be, but it was affordable.

I love that they brought back the old Trek logo!

ETA: bummer about the one piece bar-and-stem, though. http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/...y-fisher/84079 I like tilting my promenade bars. But I'm *sure* I could find a way to cope!

Yeah, they chose style over function on that one.

I swore I'd never buy another Trek

Oh, I like that one! Hands over ears...la la la la la la la. I certainly can go one year without a bike purchase, can't I?

Good thing I already have a mixte.

Bad thing it fits Knott better than me. La la la la la ....

If they brought back the 420, or did the 520 with a purple to green fade paint job I'd be in trouble.

Does anyone else think this looks like a "poor man's Rivendell Yves Gomez"

trek420, I saw their Betty Foy at Harris's the other day- she's cute!

Yeah, something about this one doesn't do it for me. I like the riv ones and the Soma Buena Vista. I especially like the one that somebody just Xtracycled into a super cool haulin machine.

Your mariposa has so much more personality! but if the trek ends up being easier to ride or get on, I'll let you sell it.

My new 2012 Trek Belleville mite

Earlier this year I bought a Soma Buena Vista frame, but I haven't had the time to decide on components to build it up. My DH recently "retired" and immediately took a new job in NC, and I'm carless during my extended visits to our temporary second home.

So I decided to buy the Trek Belleville and ride it here for awhile to learn what I like and don't like. I'll then finish building the Buena Vista and sell the Belleville.

My first impressions after its intro ride last night and a longer 14 mile recreational cycle today ...

    Likes:
    - Dynamo powered front and back lights are great and are actually bright enough (although I am likely to use additional lights).
    - Upright riding position for urban, recreational cycling
    - Moustache style handlebars
    - Cream & grey color scheme, brown leather accents

    Dislikes:
    - Did I mention heavy? As in, heavier than one of our tandems ...
    - Only three gears ... I will need more for the hills
    - Wish they had figured out a clever way to include storage for a lock and essential tools

I haven't had a chance to try the front and rear racks ... or how effective the fenders are in keeping me dry in the rain.
