    O Lord, what a morning...

Got my new bike Thurs - even sweeter than it looked on the net (we live in a far-flung province and it has to get trucked from Galactic Central Point). Spent all arvo staring at it and nearly crying with thinkng about riding after 2 years plus (breast cancer recurrence la-di-da). Then thought "This is a 'bike for the girlfriend' - nothing special, low gearing. Then "What do I care about niche marketing - it suits my needs and my purse (my plastic!), I think it is sexy. And the first person who says ONE WORD is going to get my "history" in all its gory detail!
Rode it for 1 1/2 hr to the old fish pools, down the Jordan River as far as the creek and back along the tractor track. Came home said "Look at me!" to all my friends. Put in some preventive procto-fication after so long off the bike??! took 400 mg Ibu also preventative for the old orthopedics and some arnica on the sit-bones. Though actually felt pretty good.
TODAY - took it out down the rough track through the dates grove and out to the creek around the rough Jordan River-bank track and up the road to another kibbutz and out via the paved bike track and home round the lake and almost all the way up the hill to home. 5 min rest and rode the remaining distance and saw people and was seen by people.
Everything is soaking in the big green plastic washing tub and I am still singin' "O Lord what a morning" - un-tunefully and adding "You know I don't mean the "LORD" bit in the exclusivist, male, hierarchical sense, don't You?

Mazel Tov, Margo. It sounds like quite a ride.
And "Lord" is always construed as all-inclusive where I pray .

Pictures? I'd love to see what the Jordan River actually looks like.
