Bike Part Hoarders: 9-speed shimano front derailleur?

I know this is a stretch, since its like... a decade old. But i broke my front derailleur and don't really have the funds to upgrade everything to 10-speed right now.

Does anyone hoard bike parts and possibly have a 9-speed shimano Front derailleur braze-on? For a standard double crank. All my current componentry is Dura Ace but I guess i can't be too picky. And might also be willing to give/sell it to me?

I guess i'm just testing the water to see if anyone even has this in their possession.

I'm pretty sure that a 10-speed front derailleur will work in this instance. It's a "dumb" component whose behavior is dictated by the shifters.

Have you checked with your shop?

I agree with Becky - a 10 speed one should work fine. My nine speed front derailleur works fine with my 10 speed shifters.

all my spares are clamp ons.

But any speed front derailleur will work, 8, 9, 10, whatever.
