    My new ride!

A Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc in black and white I tried the entry level one and just fell for it, the LBS owner held the bike at the front so I could get a feel for it, and it literally just felt as if it was ready to set off there and then! Sadly it was minus 3 and icy, and I was on my own with the toddler so no test ride. They are ordering in the Sport Disc for me and will be adding a Sonoma women's saddle, which I can swap out if need be, crud catcher mudguards, water cage, bottle and pump. I didn't have any problems with the standover height or reach, and the 15.5" mens frame felt to be a better fit than the 17" Myka was for me. They are going to deliver it on Saturday, I can have a quick ride to check the fit but then it's going to be put away til Christmas

woo hoo! Thank you for all the help on here, much appreciated.

    Thank you all!

I went back to the shop today to see if they can change the tyres for me - in my excitement yesterday I forgot to change the tyres from mainly road/made track to mainly dirt and mud. So it's all been done and the bike should be here on Saturday! The temperature made it up to 0 (celsius) today and it looks like we might have a thaw by the end of the week, so hopefully I'll get out on Saturday or Sunday, and will then clean it up ready for Santa to store until Christmas. It has been beautiful having the hoar frost over everything but I can't wait to get onto my new bike!

Neato! I might be in the marktet for a hardtail myself next year, and Specialized's line has already caught my eye. I'm short, so I'll likely have to go with a Myka though.
