The electric co-op was out just last week to look at the trees that are overhanging our power lines. They'll keep until next year when we're scheduled for trimming, they said.

Tornado sirens just went off and I'm dubious. Stocking up on fresh water and topping up the chainsaw batteries...

These storms went through Central Indiana around 10 this morning. The Federal Courthouse where I work evacuated to its basement. That's a first in the 10 years I've been here. The storm went through rather quickly and we were back to normal in about 15 minutes. I'm hopeful that things are okay at home. I'm always nervous to leave the cats when severe weather is in the forecast.

We're under a tornado watch up here, but we haven't gotten much out of this other than wind and rain.

The storm blew through Cincinnati at Noon or there about. Wind was something really wicked. Sky black. Just overcase sky and raining (which we need) now. We didn't loose power here at work, but it looks like we did at home, I just have to get some and see if it's still out.

That's it for here. Maybe we might get a little more rain - which we still desperately need to top up the reservoirs, ponds and streams, even though it's too late for the crops. There are some isolated reports of trees down, but nothing extensive.

Roadtrip--yeah, you guys need rain! My parents have been telling me that it looked like Texas down there!

We're done up here. Just a lot of rain and wind. There are some trees down, apparently. Still under a tornado watch until 4, though.

Yeaaa.. I tried to dig a hole in my yard (momentary motivation) as I wanted to move a shrub. Shovel hit dirt and I QUICKLY realized my mistake and said lets go riding instead. Earth is SOOOOO dry now it's stupid hard.

Thing about storms like this is all it does is wash away more top-soil. What we need is a week long soaking rain. Grass is dry and dead looking. Nothing by weeds growing.
