First Chilly Ride of the Season

Logged in a decidedly chilly 43-miler at predawn. Air was crisp, very low humidity, and the star-filled sky was clear. It was beautiful but I definitely felt the chill, despite dressing for cooler temps. Saw my raccoon gang, a fox with an attitude, and lots of bunnies. Also scared the bejezus out of someone stealing veggies from the community garden (he/she left a very nice celeste green bianchi behind when he/she hightailed it at my headlight's approach. All I could hear was the clomp-clomp of running, rustling of bushes, and a quick glimpse of a retreating tomato thief!).

Fall is fast approaching.... On the upside, it's perfect weather for walking my furry goldens!

On my ride this morning, I saw lots of other cyclists out in long sleeves and windbreakers. I wore a ss Ibex jersey and was perfectly comfortable, but I like to be a little cool on the bike. It's really windy today. Agree it's starting to feel like fall. Yay!

We drove up to the north shore for our ride. It was cool when we loaded up the car. Started the ride with arm warmers and a vest; Earl seemed to bring more wind after the storm passed than during the time it was here. But, the arm warmers came off after about a half hour and the vest shortly after that.
Nice 47 mile ride. I enjoy riding so much more in clear, cooler weather.

Giggle. We've been riding later, after it "warms" up! I got brave the other day and left in the 60 degree weather in a light windbreaker. (All the other cyclists seemed to get a giggle out of it). After 90 degrees, 60 is cold!
