I'm thinking about doing one of the rides over the bridge (Talmadge Memorial Bridge) during the Savannah Century Ride. Anyone done this ride before? I would probably do the 37 mile ride but am worried about making it up the bridge.

we do have some "overpasses" that provide a little "climbing". I'll start working on those--i am concerned about the cars as this is not a bike friendly town. i usually go to tallahassee so i can ride on their trail to the coast (32 miles round trip but very flat). thanks for the advice...i'm new at this so i'm trying to figure out what i can do..just did my firts sprint tri three weeks ago..loved it and want to do another
+ 1 for hills both north and south of Atlanta. This is the route for the Tour de Cure of Georgia. Country roads, some nice hills. http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united...24127423978802
I live north of Atlanta and there's really no where to ride that isn't hilly... I hate hills![]()

"I never made "Who's Who"- but sure as hell I made "What's That??..."
twoodard - we will be there! We have done this ride for the last several years. The bridge LOOKS harder than it is. In the past they have closed it off to traffic for a period of time and I am going to assume they will do that again this year. It is a great ride! If you decide to do it PM me!
thanks julie13.1--are you going to do the 100 mile or one of the shorter rides
We will probably do the metric. We have to drive home that same day, so the full century with the drive will be too much. I was trying to convince DH to spend one more night there, but not sure if I managed to sway him.
I just realized that my avatar picture is Savannah, at the top of the bridge!
i'll let you know if i decide to do it. i just found out i may be in st. paul that weekend. great picture by the way
