using grease gun on my frogs

I received my grease gun as suggested on my previous post about greasing Speedplay's. I have the Frogs my friend has the X's.

So I used the gun and put the grease in until the grease was coming out of the port. My friend said I was suppose to grease it until it came out of the other end where the spindle goes into the peddle. So I just tried it again, and the grease keeps coming out of the port and nothing comes out of the other end. I reread the directions and it does say to put the grease in until it come out of the spindle side.

Any of you who use one of these guns, when do you stop putting in the grease?
BTW I am turning the pedal as I am squirting the grease in.

    Thanks much!

I don't think that you need to turn the pedal - but I also doubt that would cause a problem. The grease should come out the other side of the pedal as you say. I watched a mechanic the first time, any chance of asking a mechanic at your LBS to watch and make sure all is OK?

Thanks Denise. I told my husband that you would probably reply to my message. You have been such help in just about all of my questions.

Although the directions said to slowly turn the pedal as squeezing the grease in, apparently I was not pressing the gun into the port tight enough if you know what I mean. Needless to say I held the gun with both hands (I have small hands) and after a couple of pumps out came some black grease then began the clean grease. I rotated the pedal in between squirts.

Now I am sure I have well greased bearings in my frogs. Thank you so much as always. Happy cycling to you for the remainder of the weekend.
