I know, I am hooked, line and sinker. Its 4am and i cant sleep. Anyone else get so excited before a tough ride that they lose sleep.
We are prepping for a charity, very hilly century next week. The prep ride, a tough 75mile uphill slog.
Wish me luck, its 4am on my living room couch and my quads are burning already LOL

Well, I slept, but I'm sitting on my couch at 4:58a. You really gotta stop staring at that topo- you'll be tired before you start, sister. Little wind in Sante Fe, what's up with that?

Wow, looks like fun. Just think how nice it will be going downhill after all the work you did going up.

Jarider, good luck on your very hilly ride.

Hubby can't sleep before any big event because he's afraid he'll oversleep. I sleep pretty well before a big ride. If I don't, I'll have a melt down before the ride is over.

I can't sleep before a big ride either. It's partly adrenaline, and partly that my brain just keeps running through its checklist..."pump the tires...pack spare tube...wear HR monitor" etc. During the ride I don't usually feel too tired despite missing sleep. As soon as I stop riding though, I promptly conk out.

Good luck on today's prep ride...post back and let us know how it goes!

So, jarider- did you have as much fun as we did? Heartbreak hill will certainly separate the boys from the women, eh?

hmmm not sure how much fun it was. I do know the fun ended before that last climb somewhere around mile 63. Just turned into a matter of pride and determination to finish on the bike.
