    Got the hubby hooked!

My hubby got a shiny red Specialized hardrock last week. He's totally hooked! has been riding all over the place with the youngest two in tow! I love it. He's a say at home dad (does a great job) and he's gotten our 4 year old to go with out her training wheels . She's kicking butt and riding all over town with Daddy while he's got our 1 year old in the trailer. We are officially a cycling family! Our 8 year old races BMX.
How cool is this? Let me tell you we are now happily down to only one Vehicle for during the winter and for groceries, and scouts!

wasn't it the Jesuits that used to say something along the lines of "give me a child until he is 5 and he is mine for life" in regards to their teaching. It sounds like you and your hubby are in the process of getting two children involved in biking for life. Good for you both. YAY FOR KIDS ON BIKES AND FOR PARENTS WHO SUPPORT THEM.

OH that is so awesome to hear!! We just purchased my 3 year old a new Trek for her birthday. She loves it! Riding all over the place. She is getting really good. It has been added to her big brother's Trek Jet 20, mommy's Trek 2.1 WSD, and Daddy's Scott Addict R2. We are a cycling family as well. My kids practically beg to ride when we get home from school/work. A trip to the grocery store on our bikes is an extra special treat.

    Annielynn,

OK here's a silly question. what do you do to bring the groceries home? and what about locking up everyone's bikes? We also have our 1 year old in the trailer

When my daughter goes to the store with us she is in the trailer. I usually make sure to only buy enough food that will fit in the back of the trailer behind her seat. I have made the mistake once or twice where I have purchased too much and she has had to ride home with a loaf of bread in her lap. BIG mistake since it usually makes it home squished! Now that she is older and is getting much better handling her bike I will be able to purchased the majority of my groceries and put them in the trailer. This is how I shop when I am by myself.

We have two locks for our bikes. I have been able to get three bikes locked up at the bike rack outside the store. But if Daddy goes with us then we just take both sets of locks. That way we can make sure to put the lock through the frame of our bikes and the wheels of the kiddos.

It is about 2 miles roundtrip to the grocery store and it is really a fun and exciting time. Serves two purposes. One gets the kiddos out for a ride and two saves the gasoline in the truck. Momma likes both.
