    April 19 Rides

Our third day riding out here in beautiful Cali (and we have almost decided to move here!) we drove back to Monterey from Santa Cruz to finish the Sea Otter route we abandoned because of DHs headset problems...the day started off pretty dreary but it was beautiful by the time we set out...
From Cannery Row out to 17 mile drive, along 17 mile drive, stopping to look at the Harbor Seal pups....and up Spyglass Hill. Keep in mind, we are from NORTH TEXAS. Our hills are short, few, far between, and seldom much over 4 percent grade. My garmin insisted this one was 13...but the MYGPS thingie said more like 10 percent at the steepest. DH, the race rider that he is, hopped up it like a mountain goat after having cut his teeth on the long climb to Laguna Seca on Saturday. I spun it up, wishing I had put that 28 on. Oh well. We made it. Tomorrow we are heading for SF and the ride to Muir Woods that MP put together for me...it has some hills in it too, so we should be getting ourselves ready for the Breakaway ride on Sunday!

    Welcome to California.

Sounds like a beautiful ride. Well... it is breathtakingly beautiful up there.

I am eager to here how you liked the Muir Woods. It was my favorite part of my San Fransisco trip.
