So tell us a bit about your bike? Is that a "fitness" bike?

    Love the doggie, btw .

I hope he likes to ride!
Our first Jack Russel loved to ride. We couldn't take our golf cart out without her when we lived in the burbs. She would pester my husband for rides on his motorcycle. When we moved to the country and got a tractor, she would always be on the driver's lap. Even on our giant back-hoe!
She would even ride on the lap's of complete strangers when we had outside contractors with equipment working on our property.
We lost her last week. Very sad, but I cherish the memories of her riding days.
I hope your new buddy is an enthusiastic rider too.

He loves to ride, and will get in anyone's car whether you want him to or not! I'll have to be careful with that. I have ridden my bike past his former house and he never chased me, but he will bite and bark at tires to small things like bikes and motorcycles in the yard.
The bike is a trek 7.7, an upgrade from my 7.3. It is about 9 pounds lighter and has some higher end components. I was feeling guilty about purchasing it until I took it out for its' maiden voyage on Saturday. I stopped feeling guilty after about a mile. It is a very responsive bike. I just have to have flat handlebars for the shoulder issue.
