Success - in several ways

As a few of you may have noticed, I've been considering the purchase of a touring bike to compliment my Trek - between the two of them there are few places I couldn't go outside of technical mountain bike trails. The question has not been "if" I would get the Long Haul Trucker, but "when". I forced myself to look at other possibilities, other touring bikes, cross bikes, etc. Always came back to this bike.

The LHT is more expensive this year, so I started visiting different stores to find the best deal. I know that relationship is important, but I found an LBS that I like even better than my first one - who says a woman can't have two LBS?

The second one is too small to really be able to offer a sale price, the original store had originally cut the price by $100, then when I mentioned that I was also looking at store XYZ they cut the price another $90....SOLD!

I am proud of myself because I've never been very good at negotiating It feels good to have been successful!

The 2010 LHT comes in blue (Blue Velvet) and black - and the supplier is out of blue. The more I look at the black version (Blacktacular) the more I realize that a black bike is easy to accessorize and make my own. Whichever version gets ordered this afternoon, pictures will be forthcoming in a few weeks if not ealier.

Rode yesterday, today, and hopefully this weekend. I keep thinking that it can't get more fun, and then it does

Yippee!!! I'm so glad you went ahead with the LHT. I, too, really want one, so I'm going to live vicariously through you until the time comes.
