A little while ago, I purchased a Deda Alanera.
It took me a while to decide that it was time to go ahead and buy it - and I am glad I did.
I actually got it for a new bicycle I am building up - but to give it a try I mounted it on my steel bike. It made the ride wonderful. It is very ergononomically shaped, and allows ample room for movement, given the generous reach and drop.
The position of the integrated stem places your handlebar basically at the same height of the headset - which, for people like me that would love negative spacers if they existedis a great virtue! This feature coupled with an optimal saddle height creates a very aerodynamic position on the bike.
The structure is very stiff and absorbs vibrations so your hands pretty much feel nothing even on uneven pavement. The grip is solid and allows for great control.
And of course the aesthetic is good looking as well - so that's an extra point.
All in all, if any of you is considering this handlebar - go for it. It is definitely worth every cent of its price. And, unlike the Synapsi, this one is UCI legal as well!
So far, this is definitely the best handlebar I have ever used in over 30 years, both in terms of performance and comfort.
