    Pantene to the Rescue

Ever had one of those days when you were on the bike so long that you didn't think you'd ever get clean of dirt, grit, and sweat?

    A shower just won't do.

So, you submerge in a whirlpool tub and make the mistake of adding bubble bath to the water and within 30 seconds, the foam and bubbles are over your head. You'd think I'd learn. But I never do. I keep experimenting to see what would happen if I only add one tiny drop of bubble bath?

And then you have your German Shepherd freaking because, guard dog that she is, she has been guarding me. And for me to disappear beneath the suds, well that is too much and she paws at the shower door, shrieking I'm sure, "Lifeguard! Lifeguard!!!!! She can't swim and neither can I. I patrol. I don't swim. Where's the cell phone? Call 911."

Meanwhile, I'm continuing my experiments and wondering how far the bubbles will go up the sliding glass shower door."

    All the way.

It looked the blob creeping over the top of the shower door and sliding down the other side which sent the freaked German Shepherd out the bathroom door screeching, "Abandon Ship! Every man for himself!"

But ahhhh today I discovered the secret. Pantene Shampoo. The combination shampoo and conditioner version. The conditioner part lowers the sudsing activity by limiting the emulsifying properties of the soap part.

Of course there is a critical point where you CAN add too much Pantene and the suds begin to form ..... but not for a good 20 minutes or so. And by then you are as exhausted from the hot water as the German Shepherd is from guarding and who has collapsed on the bathroom rug.

This is a public service announcement and no Pantene funds have exchanged hands in the creation of this helpful hint. Nor is the author responsible for any mishaps if you try this at home.

Vinegar will also break down the soap. Maybe the dog needs a spray bottle of a vinegar solution to save you from the blob creeping over the shower door?

I find shaving cream also breaks up bubble bath. Thanks for the great post!

My only contribution of related trivia/practical information is that lip balm will quell a foamy head of beer.

Great post. I know what you mean about German Shepherds, mine would probably do the same.
